About us

The Al-Zohra Welfare Association is a grass root level organization. It was founded by Zohra Begum in May 1991 and is registered under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies Ordinance, 1961 for the benefit of the women and destitute families of Karachi. It is a non-profit organization with the dual aim of assisting ,empowering Women and making them Self Sufficient alongside providing education and community development.

In May 1991, Al Zohra started working from a rented two room quarter in Punjab Colony, Street No.6, with no bathrooms or water connection. It started giving ration to the women who were Zakat Eligible and a free homeopathic Clinic was initiated by Mrs. Mehmooda Aqil. Al Zohra now has a Six-Storey building, bought and leased, A very high standard English meduim Pre Nursery to Secondary School and teaching “O” level compatible curriculum Alzohra school has complete nazra Quran pak in the syllabus and  has Rosetta Stone English Lanugage Software as part of syllabus also. Alzohra School and Vocational Training uses 4 LED screens from 50″ to lesser widths.It has 24 hour internet, state of the art computer labs and other labs.

Alzohra Vocational Training Center is Registered with STEVTA ( Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority).It provides skill building with Computer Courses, Cooking Courses, Beautician Courses, & Sewing Courses. It gives fitness classes & English language Course.All the instructors are highly capable and experienced.It is very well equipped and custom built, but the fees are nominal.

Our Esteemed member Dr Naqiba Munshi,(MBBS,MCPS,FELLOW OF DERMATOLOGY) Holds free Skin clinic,free consultation and medicine since more than a decade.
